VAST supplied and programmed Stage One of SOUL at Surfers Paradise - the illumination of the decorative steel dome structure. Washed in a classic, continual slow fade between warm and cool white colour temperatures, designed by renown Gold Coast based designers, Tony Dowthwaite Lighting Design. The installation of a centrepiece awning to join the two SOUL buildings, created a unique, decorative projection surface that allows illumination of each glass piece in a vibrant, moving display of rich colours. Anolis Arcline Optic RGBW LED fixtures were chosen as the preferred fixture and were supplied in a variety of lengths from 300mm to 1200mm and installed neatly into the steel frame structure. Each fixture is tight 6 degree beam angle which ensures a consistent wash across each glass face. The dramatic impact of scrolling colour moves and weaves beautifully across the decorative glass in a seamless transition between cool blues and whites, rich autumn ambers and golds through to vibrant magentas and blues. The client can choose the mood of the installation at the press of a button on the fully automated Pharos touch screen. The installation runs 365 days a year and is fully time clocked to co-incide with the shifting sunset and sunrise times of the year.
