Brisbane City Hall

Brisbane City Council engaged VAST to assist with the design and implementation of a complete upgrade of all exterior luminaires, to showcase this iconic Brisbane structure in time for the G20 summit, held in Brisbane in 2014. Energy efficiency, flexible functionality and remote access were three key goals of the project.

Over 160 Anolis high power, weather proof RGBW luminaires were chosen due to their proven reliability in numerous projects around the globe, their high quality LED sources that provide outstanding colour mixing qualities and the variety of available beam angles to compliment the elegant building facade in fine detail . Arcsource 24MC  fixtures light the columns, Arcpad 48  fixtures provide balcony wash and a wonderful depth of field and the powerful
Arcpad 94  fixtures illuminate large format surfaces such as the bell tower and central balcony. A finishing touch are the Arcline strips that rear-light the clock face on all four sides.

The entire installation is DMX controlled and operates autonomously 365 days a year. Lumen Radio DMX wireless transmitters and receivers successfully communicate directly to fixtures where new cabling could not be installed due to restrictions associated with the heritage listing of the building. Secure remote access is available to senior council staff that allows recall of a large palette of custom programmed scenes designed specifically for this project. Remote access is available via off site computer, wireless tablet and smart phone.
